Mac is the flagship. The iPhone companion syncs with it through iCloud, and a widget handles Lock Screen and Home Screen capture. Both come in the same purchase.
Through your own iCloud account (Apple's CloudKit), end to end. Your tasks live on your devices and in your private iCloud database — we run no sync servers and cannot see your data. The app is fully functional offline; sync catches up when you're back.
No. There are no Momentum accounts, no sign-up, no analytics, no telemetry.
One job: triage suggestions. It reads the inbox items you explicitly submit and suggests where each should go. You confirm every item; nothing is filed, changed, or deleted by the AI on its own. It's also entirely optional — triage works fully manually.
If you never invoke AI triage, your task text never leaves your device (beyond your own iCloud sync). When you do invoke it, only the items being triaged are sent — through our managed service (which logs usage counts, never content) or directly to Anthropic under your own API key if you prefer. Yes. Your data is a local-first store on your device and exportable. No lock-in — if Momentum stops being right for you, your tasks leave with you.
Things 3, Todoist, Apple Reminders, and OmniFocus importers are part of V1 — an import guide will be published here as they finalize during the beta.
Things is excellent, and Momentum's design owes a debt to it. Momentum adds the parts that keep a system alive: AI triage that clears the inbox, a guided weekly review, honesty views like Stale, and calendar time-blocking. If you're happy with Things, stay with Things — genuinely.
